In today’s episode I do a deep dive into Top 5 Best Areas to Live in Houston Texas. We are going to discuss some of those best areas to live in Houston, TX. We are not allowed to steer you in any way by talking about the best areas. So what I like to do is go to niche.com and I take their list they rank it for all different types of reasons such as income level, safety, crime, all that and it's all public information, I like to take their list. It's really not the way that I would rank it, but it does a really good job of explaining a bunch of different areas, some in the north, some in the east, South and the West. That way you can have an understanding of some of these areas that will fit you. And most importantly, some of these areas that you're going to hate to live and we like doing that ruling some of these areas out. And I will tell you stories of why certain clients have moved to certain areas.
Let's start off with number five or one of the first ones. This is an area in the southeast section of Houston, TX. It's called League City. If you look down there, there's League City there's Dickinson those areas I would say anywhere in that Southeast area. You're going to be able to stretch the budget the most. And still get really good air and a place to live. I moved to Houston, TX back in 2009 from Idaho to work on power lines, now you know I moved back for the second time a few years ago cause we just freaking love Texas. But when we moved here the first time we actually lived down in Dickinson, down in League City area. It was not developed. Even just ten years ago most of the area down there was just older style homes. I'm not 100% positive, but when you look at the tax rates and stuff, I believe League City is one of the lowest. So you're not going to have the highest property taxes down there yet. The number 4 on the list would be over to the West is Sugarland. If you go online and look at school rankings, and if you're number one goal in life when moving to Houston, TX is schools. Then it's the end of story from what I've heard from the locals that's kind of like the best schools now. Everybody fights me and were saying like "She's the best oh Woodlands, the best. They're all great. They're all amazing." They all have top areas, so when you look at school rankings it's going to completely deter you from moving to the right area. I've heard that from people as they only looked at a rating online. And then they moved to the wrong area. And yet there's incredible schools everywhere, so school rankings can be a little misleading sometimes online, but I am blown away with Sugarland. You're gonna read about it, great schools, great everything. If you need to be in the southwest corner, it's amazing. Then number 3 on the list is an area that really is becoming one of our clients top go to areas I have my favorite spots and they don't hit the top five, so maybe I'll talk about them. But Cyprus. You're right in the Cy Fair School districts. Again, highly coveted school system. There's so many different school districts, it's hard but Cyprus is nice, and the coolest part is you're really out of all these areas the closest to downtown Houston. So number 2 on the list is just one of those no brainers it's Katy TX. It was the number one place for me and my wife, it's amazing. You're just far out to the West, but I get it like top schools $70 million football stadiums. You have theme parks there water, water parks, top restaurants, golf courses galore you've got everything you could ever imagine in one community, and I know that people who live there, they rave about it. Now It was actually ranked the number one place to live in the United States of America and that's The Woodlands TX. You will pay the most money there, but you get what you pay for. People just are moving there in droves and waves because they got to have it. If we go anywhere in the Houston area that's not downtown. We go to The Woodlands, the most shops, most concert venues and the most shopping are. You have the parks down there. You got cool trolleys that take you everywhere. The master plan communities and the neighborhoods are just gorgeous.
